Ltd Lango invests 2,1 million lats in construction of modern food production unit
Ltd Lango starts the construction of a new prepared and instant food production unit in Stopinu region, Riga district. This project, 2,1 million lats worth, will be the only one such production unit in its branch in Latvia. It is planned that the operation of the unit will start in spring, 2006.
The new production unit will allow enlarging Ltd Lango production capacity; secure both, new products group introduction and former assortment extension. Having enhanced efficiency, the enterprise is planning to gain the turnover of 2 million lats this year.
“We have always considered long-term development of the enterprise, in such a way securing a leading position among prepared and instant food production enterprises. The new project, pursuant to the European Union requirements, henceforth will allow us to enable successful production development and expand the range of products; thus, strengthening Lango leading position in the market”, stresses Ltd Lango Board chairman Andrejs Fraimanis, while immuring the “formula of success” into the ground of production unit.
HACCP quality standard (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) will be introduced into new food production unit. It is an internationally approved quality system for safe and harmless food production in enterprises.
The head of Latvian Federation of Food Enterprises Arlita Sedmale: “The demand of qualitative instant food products is growing also in Latvia. If this demand does not meet the offer of Latvian producers, then a consumer will choose imported products. Lango has already won the trust of consumers, and is constantly improving its products offer, and introducing new products and packing. Products, produced by Lango, have high additional value and quality that is also appreciated by the consumer. Otherwise, there won’t be possible the enterprise development.”
Development of the new production unit’s project started in 2003, and it is planned to be completed by May, 2006. The total costs of the project make 2,1 million lats, including 1,6 million lats that are financed by JSC Hansabanka, and the other part of funds is invested by the enterprise and the owners. The execution of the project will be carried out two stages: construction of a building and purchase of modern technological equipment, including vacuum-packaging line and production line of salads and pancakes. The technological project of the production is designed by German architect and engineering bureau Concepta GMBH. Construction will be carried out by Ltd “Riga’s Restoration Bureau”
