Lango opens modern prepared and instant food product unit
Today, the prepared and instant food producer Ltd Lango has formally opened a new food production unit in Stopinu region. A modern production unit, value of which is 2,1 million lats, is the first enterprise of this type in the prepared and instant food production segment in the Baltic States. The new production unit will allow enlarging Ltd Lango production capacity, securing both, new products group introduction and former assortment extension. Having enhanced efficiency, the enterprise is planning to gain the turnover or 2 million lats this year.
The total costs of the project make 2,1 million lats, including 1,6 million lats that are financed by JSC Hansabanka, and the other part of funds is invested by the enterprise and the owners. General contractor for production unit building is Ltd Riga’s Restoration Bureau.
Development of technical project started three years ago when Lango chose to cooperate with German architect and engineering bureau Concepta GMBH that specialises on projects of food production objects. Pursuant to the standards of the EU, the project was worked out in concordance with Lango production process specifics, taking into account the location of equipment as well as working places of staff, and implementing contemporary technologies.
The Board of the enterprise considers that investments in products quality and the development of the enterprise represent the basis of “formula of success”. “I always emphasize that one of the main Lango work standards is being the best in quality. By making long-term investments, we have ensured the leading position in the market of prepared and instant food products. When designing the production unit, our aim was to gain stable and constant product quality as well as ensure successful production development in future, and update the range of products”, Ltd Lango Board chairman Andrejs Fraimanis points out.
The head of Latvian Federation of Food Enterprises Arlita Sedmale, when wishing to Ltd Lango many satisfied customers, pointed out, “Convenience of using a food product is a very important factor of modern life – this is an advantage for a consumer, being in hurry and busy with work. Similarly to other European states, in Latvia the demand for ready-to-use products is growing. Despite the fact that the segment of prepared and instant food products is new to Latvia, it is rapidly developing due to fast pace of living. Having constructed a new production unit, Lango has taken a great step forward. Due to the production unit it will become possible not only to meet the ever-growing demand of already popular products and to develop new ones, but also to produce, observing high hygiene requirements and good production practise.
The chairman of Stopinu region council Janis Pumpurs mentioned that the new project of Lango is a sample of effective cooperation of the enterprise and regional government that facilitate both: the district's infrastructure development and job creation. “Constructing the new production unit in Stopinu region, the enterprise Lango has facilitated the arrangement of surroundings and promoted business field for future businessmen, who later will locate their objects around Sturainu Street.”
Ltd Lango was founded in 1992, and at the moment it is a leading producer of prepared or instant food products in Latvia. Lango turnover in 2005 reached 1,3 million lats, which is by 47% higher than in 2004. Ltd “Lango” produces three product groups: salads, pancakes, flaky sandwiches.
